Ahmad Al Sarraf – Kuwait

was graduated from the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain in 1999. Dr. A Sarraf got his postgraduate training in Medical Biochemistry at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver in Canada during the period of 2006-­‐2011. He spent another one year in Canada, working as a fellow at the St Paul’s Hospital, under the direct supervision of Prof. Jiri Frohlich. There he was co-authored for a number of publications mainly in lipid disorders. In that period Dr. Al-­‐Sarraf also have a strong training at the prevention clinic. He ends his fellowship with awarded certificate in Clinical Lipidology by the National Lipid Association in the United State in 2010.
Dr. A Sarraf is the Head of Laboratory department at the Kuwait Cancer Control Center in Kuwait. Dr. Al- Sarraf is member of the Clinical biochemistry committee in Kuwait and fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Medical Biochemistry. He is also program director for clinical biochemistry program in Kuwait. Around 15 publications that he has co-­‐authored however, one his biggest achievement was the approval of familial hypercholesterolemia registry project in Kuwait in collaboration with the Gulf registry.
A part of his duty in the laboratory, he runs a lipid clinic with average 30 patients per week.

Andreas Zirlik – Germany

Andreas Zirlik- Germany Prof. Dr. Andreas Zirlik is Deputy Medical Director of the Department of Cardiology and Angiology I of the Heart Center of Freiburg University in Germany. He practices interventional cardiology and interventional hypertensiology and heads the heart failure and heart transplantation service.
He is the president of the German Atherosclerosis Society (DGAF).
His research interests focus on inflammatory mechanisms in atherogenesis and at the interface of cardiovascular, metabolic disease, and thrombosis.

Gerald Tomkin – Ireland

Gerald Tomkin – Ireland Gerald Tomkin is a consultant Endocrinologist/Diabetologist, based in Beacon Consultants Clinic
He is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and Professor of Diabetes and Endocrinology. He spent time training in the UK and USA before coming back to Dublin as a Consultant Physician to The Adelaide and Meath Hospital Dublin. His main research interests have been focussed on cholesterol metabolism in diabetes, obesity and the interaction of bile with glucose protein and fat metabolism.
Gerald Tomkin is president of Diabetes Ireland and has been a vice president of the European Association for the study of Diabetes (EASD) and president of the Association of Physicians of Great Britain and Ireland. Maciej Banach – Poland

Gerald Tomkin – Ireland Prof. Maciej Banach was an Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland (2010-2012).
He is a President of Polish Mother’s Memorial Hospital – Research Institute (PMMHRI), Head of Cardiovascular Research Centre at University of Zielona Gora, full Professor of Cardiology at the Medical University of Lodz (MUL) and PMMHRI, Head of Foreign Affairs Office (2012-2014), Head of Department of Hypertension at the Medical University of Lodz and Professor in the Department of Nephrology, Hypertension and Family Medicine, Chair of Nephrology and Hypertension, at the WAM University Hospital in Lodz, Poland.
He is member of the Executive Committee of European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS) working as an Advisor in Matters related to European Union Relations/Contacts, and the International Atherosclerosis Society (IAS) Regional Federation Executive Committee Member for Europe.
He is a Founder and Head of the Polish Lipid Association (PoLA), the Lipid and Blood Pressure Meta-Analysis Collaboration (LBPMC) Group, and the International Lipid Expert Panel (ILEP).

Mekhman Mamedov – Russia

Stephan Von - Germany Professor Mehman Mamedov graduated from the Moscow Medical Academy in 1993. He continued his medical education as a cardiology intern at the Medical Centre for the President of the Russian Federation. Dr Mamedov holds a PhD degree (1997) from the National Research Centre for Preventive Medicine. In 2001, he wrote a higher doctorate thesis. Under Dr Mamedov’s supervision, 9 PhD and 1 higher doctorate theses were achieved. Dr. Mamedov is Head of the Laboratory for cardiovascular risk at the National Research Centre for Preventive Medicine; Vice-President of the Cardioprogress Foundation, and Deputy Chief Editor of the International Heart and Vascular Disease Journal. He is an author of more than 250 scientific works, including 14 monographs and books, some of which were published abroad. His Hirsch index is 28.

Stephen Kopecky – USA

Stephan Von - Germany Dr. Stephen Kopecky is a cardiologist at Mayo Clinic. After his training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Mayo Clinic, he started in Mayo’s Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory performing interventional procedures and in the Coronary Care Unit treating myocardial infarctions.
He is now focused on cardiovascular disease prevention were he sees patients in the Mayo Clinic Cardiovascular Health Clinic. He has written numerous articles for peer-reviewed journals and has received multiple “Teacher of the Year” awards from Mayo’s Division of Cardiovascular Diseases and the Department of Internal Medicine. His research interests include the role that lifestyle, including diet, exercise, and proper nutrition, play in risk prediction and the development of cardiovascular disease and statin intolerance, especially as it affects patients with familial hypercholesterolemia.
He is a contributing editor of the Mayo Clinic’s “Healthy Heart for Life!” book. Dr. Kopecky is the Past President of the American Society for Preventive Cardiology and is the 2013 recipient of the Jan J. Kellermann Memorial Award given by the International Academy of Cardiology for distinguished work in the field of Cardiovascular Disease Prevention.
